Judging Others, Pt. 2
Right after Jesus warned us to be cautious when it comes to correcting other people He follows up by saying,” Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.” It’s commonly accepted that Jesus is telling us to not continue investing in those who continually resist the Gospel.
But look at the context of hypocritically advising others when we are guilty of worse. What if we turn that accusing finger back on ourselves? What if we pause first to make sure we are not ourselves the dogs and pigs Jesus mentioned. When someone points out our errors, do we reject their criticism out of hand, or do we take the time to honestly consider if they are right?
