Paul Before Felix
Once again, we find the Apostle on trial for his life. His offense? None, really. He was falsely accused of taking a gentile into the temple in violation of manmade Jewish laws that were contrary to God’s commands. Underlying that was the deeper reason for the false accusation — the hope and the resurrection that Paul preached. With his life on the line, the evidence of that hope is visible in Paul’s claim in verse 10 that he would cheerfully make his defense.
